The sound of a hard slap was ringing in the whole mansion and the man behind it was none other than Rakesh Mehrotra who was glaring at his son with a hard and cold face. His son, Vikrant Mehrotra was staring at him with the same intensity, rage and coldness in his eyes.

Damini was shaking with fear watching the war between father and son. It was nothing new between them but before today she had never seen her son to become a rebel minded. That one look on his face was scaring her to death.

With the last cold glance towards his father Vikrant went upstairs and shut the door of his room with a bang.

Rakesh was going towards that direction when Damini came in his way. His sharp gaze went towards his wife as he fumed in anger while she shivered in fear.

"Please" She pleaded with tears in her eyes while he gave her death glare.

"Samjhao use" (Make him understand)

The warning in his tone made her scare as hell. She immediately nodded as he left the place giving a last threatening glare towards the door of his son's room.

Without wasting any time she rushed towards Vikrant's room.

"Hurry up, Ankita"

A sweet voice entered into the restaurant as the girl named Ankita nodded her head and started heating the pan more.

"It's done, ma'am. Please check it once" The girl forwarded the spatula towards the owner as she took a sip of it.

"Umm, it's delicious" The girl, none other than Shivanya the head chef of the restaurant gave her a thumbs up.

"Thank you, Ma'am" Ankita smiled and took the order outside.

Shivanya huffed with a satisfactory smile as it was the last order. She instructed the workers to check everything carefully and then left towards her apartment which was exactly opposite of the resturant.

She slowly entered inside with the spare keys and directly went towards her father's room.

There her father, Manish Mathur was sleeping in his armchair clutching the photoframe of his late wife near his heart.

A smile automatically came over her lips seeing the scene infront of her. It had been more than 5 years when her mother left the world and from then it had became his habit to talk with her mother's photoframe to pass his loneliness.

She came forward with slow steps and was going to take the photo frame to place it on the table but before that he opened his eyes.

"You came, bachcha?"

"Yes and I know very well that you didn't take your dinner till now. Not even your medicines, right?" Shivanya asked knowing very well about her father as he lowered his eyes getting caught red-handed.

"Papa, why do you do this?" She huffed.

"Woh akele khane ka man nehi karta na. Abh tum a gyi to bap-beti dono sath khana khayenge" (I don't like eating alone. Now when you came, father and daughter will eat together)

Manish said with an excited smile as she sighed. She could never show a little strictness infront of this man. She really was thankful to God for giving her the best father of the world.

"Now no more talk and come with me. I'm serving the dinner for both of us" She said with a little glare as he nodded like a kid and they went to have their dinner.

"Aj jo hua woh thik nehi hua" (Whatever happened today wasn't right)

Tej Mehrotra, the head of the Mehrotra family uttered looking outside the window. His hands were clasped behind and he was looking in deep thoughts.

"I tried but he wasn't listening to me" Rakesh said thinking deeply about the incident.

"Before today also, I've seen his anger but the fire which we saw today in Vikrant's eyes were something else" The older one uttered with his strict tone.

"What to do now?"

"Pata lagao, kya chal raha hai uske dimag mein. Ye shadi hona zaruri hai. Nehi to hamari sari mehnat barbad ho jayegi" (Find out the reason why he is denying from the marriage. I want this marriage to happen otherwise our hardwork will go in vain)

Rakesh nodded on his father's words and left the room.

The whole room was shattered and everywhere there were glass pieces. In a corner of the room, Vikrant was sitting leaning his back towards the wall. His hand was bleeding and his vision was fixed at a particular place. His face was showing no emotion and only blankness like forever.

His trance broke when he heard some footsteps. He wiped his face and sat straight as he knew who it was.

Damini came forward slowly gazing at the whole room and then her vision fell on his son as a sob escaped from her lips. She stepped forward carefully and sat infront of him. Then told the workers to clean the room.

She caressed his hairs with tears in her eyes as he closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. She placed a soft kiss on his forehead and then got up with him. Making him sit on the bed she took the first aid box. She pulled out the glass pieces from his palm and started cleaning the blood with cottons, then she applied some ointments on the cuts.

Vikrant didn't hiss or whimper for a moment as the inner pain, frustration and anger was more than it that time. His heart was burning like hell and mind was blank.

"Vikrant" She softly called him as he glanced at her with the same blankness.

"I'm fine"

"No, you're not and none knows it better than me" Damini tried to control her tears which were trying to break through her eyes.

"Accept his decision, Vikrant"

She said knowing his heart would break but she was helpless. She didn't wanna loss her child in this father-son war.

"Rakesh Mehrotra, The greatest businessman, now wants to sell his only son's whole life for 50 million pounds. Funny isn't it?" Vikrant chuckled sarcastically.

"I must say he is the greatest businessman of all time" He clapped with a mocking tone which broke his mother's heart more.

"He will never listen to anyone, Vikrant. If you don't listen to him. Then he'll take more dangerous ways to convince you" Damini said with a cracked voice knowing very well about her husband and how far he could go to satisfy his ego.

"Hume akela chhod dijiye" (Leave me alone)

He said getting up from the bed not wanting to talk about that topic anymore. Whenever he thought, his father could never go below this level for his profits, he was proved wrong. He hated that man to his guts.

Damini sighed and put his medicines on the table.

"Okay, I'm going"

She uttered and slowly left from there knowing he needed some space.

He took a deep breath and then gulped the medicines in one go. He laid on the bed and glanced at the ceiling with the same blank face when something flashed over his eyes. He closed his eyes remembering those beautiful memories.

Vikrant raised his face from his mobile when his buggati stopped at mid road.

"What happened?"

He frowned and asked his driver.

"Sir, a dog"

The man told as he nodded at him but suddenly his eyes fell on certain someone who came running and took the little puppy in her arms. He removed his sunglasses and glanced outside the window to get a proper view of her.

The girl was talking and giggling with the little puppy while caressing it's head. A miniscule smile appeared on his lips watching the cute scene as his heart felt so warm and serene.

She was wearing a simple pink checked skirt with a white crop top. Her open hairs were falling on her face blocking his view. Unknowingly he wanted to see a glimpse of her.

At the mean time she lifted her gaze and removed the hair strands from her face. His curious eyes landed on her dark brown eyes and her beautiful smile as he lost the count of time. He went numb as soon as his eyes met with hers. The girl was none other than Shivanya.

She got up dusting her hands and smiled at him muttering a sweet 'Thank you' for stopping the car immediately. Vikrant who was till now in her trance just lost his heart then and there.

The driver started the car and they left towards the destination. He sighed and closed his eyes. His lips curved upwards unknowingly.

Vikrant got up with a jerk remembering her. His eyes were holding the same blankness, his heart was craving for her but he wasn't able to do anything. His father announced his engagement with Nitya suddenly without even discussing with him for once what he wanted, whom he wanted.

He had a seen Nitya before once in a business party and they had a formal conversation with eachother but he had no idea that time that his father was going to be his biggest enemy in his way of life.

Shivanya entered into her room and left everything on the couch. She took out the purse when her eyes fell on the wedding invitation card which came on her name.

She read the name where Nitya Srivastava was written. A smile appeared on her lips when she realised her friend was getting married.

Nitya was her college friend with whom she had spent a lot of time during her college days but after college they almost lost the contacts as Nitya went to London after joining her father's businesses and she stayed here in India.

Shivanya tore the envelope and opened the card. As soon as her eyes fell on the names she gasped.

'V_Vikrant Mehrotra' She stuttered as her eyes widened reading the name.

Her hands started trembling and the card fell from her hands. She covered her mouth and took her mobile.

Then immediately searched for his name in Google and there were headlines about Vikrant Mehrotra getting married to Nitya Srivastav.

She sat on the bed with a thud covering her mouth as tears started flowing from her beautiful eyes.

Everything was looking fake to her. His love filled eyes, his loving gestures, loving words everything were fake? Was he just playing with her feelings?

And this was the reason of him not meeting her all these days.

She broke down into tears crying hysterically as she lost into those days from where it all started and now it all felt like a fake dreams.

Shivanya took the flower bouquet in her hands and frowned looking at them.

"Who brought this?" She asked her workers when one of them came near.

"Ma'am, a man came and told me that his boss sent these for you" The man said as she became confused as hell.

Her eyes fell on the small note which was attached to it. She took it in her hand and read it.

'Rose for a Rose'

She raised her eyebrows not knowing who was the person.

"Strange" Unknowingly a chuckle came from her mouth as she put the bouquet in her table.

Tears rolled down from her eyes and disappeared among her hairs as she was laying on her back. After the long session of her burst out, she was tired. She never thought he could play with her feelings like this. Everything was just fake.

She had already switched off her mobile not wanting to watch those news and photos about the engagement which were going viral everywhere.

"Shivanya"

Her trance broke hearing her father's call.

"Ji, papa" She immediately wiped her tears and sat properly.

"Did something happen?"

"No. I was just tired" She gave him a fake smile.

Manish came near her and sat beside her. She immediately hugged him.

"Anything wrong, bachcha?" He asked as she looked down lowering her eyelashes and shook her head negatively.

"Okay, then why are you still awake?"

"No, I was going to sleep. Good night, papa!"

Saying so, she immediately went to the bed to hide her broken self from her father as he chuckled.

Manish kissed on her forehead and went from there shutting the door.
